Welcome to Old Marion Baptist Church

Discover our rich history, core beliefs, and our commitment to serving the community. We are glad you are here to learn more about our church family.

Our Cherished Beginnings

Old Marion Baptist Church was founded on December 6, 1866, by dedicated members Deacon E.D. Ashley, A. Souls, and A. Oliver. In 1871, Rev. A. Durham became the first pastor, guiding the congregation in faith and service. From our earliest days, we have been committed to community service, winning souls for Christ, and cultivating an atmosphere where everyone feels welcomed, appreciated, and loved.

Our Guiding Principles

At Old Marion Baptist Church, our core beliefs and values are centered on family connections, powerful biblical teaching and principles rooted in the Word of God, and a deep appreciation for all humankind. We uphold love, fellowship, hospitality, and oneness as pillars of our church community. These values drive our every action and interaction.

Connecting with the Community

Old Marion Baptist Church actively serves and connects with the community. We are dedicated to mentoring empowerment, providing Bible-based teaching, and engaging in community service. Our goal is to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ and make a positive, lasting impact on the lives of our neighbors all while honoring fellow servants of God.  Join us in making a difference!

Our vision for the future

Our main goal for Old Marion Baptist Church in the coming years is to strive for excellence in the Kingdom of God. We will continue to teach and preach the Word of God, showing love and compassion through genuine connections, careful correction, and heartfelt care. We look forward to fellowshipping with our fellow man and growing together in faith.
